When I was a teenager my Mum used to visit spiritualist churches, and sometimes she took me with her. Eventually she opened her own spiritualist centre, and her passion for mediumship and all things spiritual has certainly been a good foundation for my own work. My brother Nigel was also very interested in Spiritualism, particualrly spiritual healing as he had health problems of his own.
Sadly in 2001 my brother took his own life, and I was very distressed by this. I didn't feel comfortable taking services anymore, and all I wanted was a message from my brother to know he was ok. I went to a Church in Lincoln soon after his death and received a lovely message via the well known local medium Paul Norton.
A couple of week's later I met Paul quite by chance and thanked him for my message - we got chatting and became firm friends, and he soon asked me to do some public meetings with him. After that my work went from strength to strength and Paul and I soon became popular and well known for our detailed descriptions of the spirit communicators. We worked on TV and radio together and were married in August 2005 and our book was published in 2008.
We took a break from spiritualism to care for our disabled grand-daughter who came to live with us aged 3 months old. She suffered from a rare metabolic illness which was terminal, and she passed over 2013. Coming to terms with her loss has been difficult - but we believe we have managed to cope in the sure and certain knowledge that she lives on and grows up in another world - not far from here - the spirit world. We keep her memory alive as much as we can by continuing to raise funds for charities who helped us when she was alive.
I have also been busy studying mediumship and spiritualism, and in June 2017 was awarded certificates in speaking and demonstrating by the Spiritualists National Union.
In July 2017 I was awarded the Dorothy Wilson prize by the Spiritualists National Union for my written work and studying towards a Diploma in Speaking and Demonstrating.
I am currently a tutor for some of the Spiritualist National Union's distance learning courses.
